Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
1. Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions apply to all quotations, orders and shipments made by Pure Salts ("the Seller") to any buyer of our products worldwide, including the GCC, Asia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Acceptance of these Terms is completed by confirming a Proforma Invoice, opening a Letter of Credit, or by any payment. Conditions put forward by the Buyer do not apply unless accepted in writing by the Seller.
2. Products and Packing
The Seller offers 25 kg and 50 kg bulk bags of edible salt and 500 g retail pouches, with its own labelling available on request. Packing, labelling and carton markings confirmed in the Proforma Invoice are what production follows once it starts.
3. Order Quantities
The minimum order quantity is 1 metric ton, shipped as LCL (Less than Container Load). Larger orders ship as FCL (Full Container Load) in 20 ft or 40 ft containers, subject to shipping line weight restrictions. LCL freight is charged on CBM or weight, whichever is greater.
4. Pricing and Incoterms
Quotations are based on Incoterms 2020: EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF or DDP. Risk and cost transfer between the Seller and the Buyer strictly according to the agreed Incoterm. Prices are only binding once confirmed in a Proforma Invoice.
5. Payment Terms
The Seller accepts payment by:
- Payment in advance by Telegraphic Transfer (TT)
- TT in part, with the balance against a copy of the Bill of Lading
- An irrevocable Letter of Credit, issued or confirmed by a bank acceptable to the Seller, at sight or usance
- Documents against Payment (D/P) or Cash Against Documents (CAD), for approved buyers only
Accepted currencies are USD, EUR, GBP, AED, SAR, or any other currency accepted in the Proforma Invoice. Production starts only once cleared advance funds are received or the LC is confirmed. The Buyer is responsible for any bank fees charged outside their own country. Where an LC applies, its terms take precedence in the event of a conflict. In case of payment default, the Seller may halt deliveries, withhold documents and cancel outstanding orders.
6. Ownership of Goods
Ownership of the goods remains with the Seller until full payment is received in cleared funds, regardless of shipping status or Incoterm.
7. Cancellation
Once production, packing or printing has started, orders cannot be cancelled. The Seller may retain any up-front payment in full to offset costs incurred.
8. Delivery and Transit
Sea transit typically takes 55–65 days, depending on destination port, route and vessel schedule. All delivery dates are estimates. The Seller is not liable for delays caused by shipping lines, transshipment, port congestion, customs inspection, weather or other circumstances outside its control. Delay does not entitle the Buyer to cancel the order, reject the goods, or claim compensation.
9. Buyer Responsibilities
The Buyer is responsible for:
- Food safety registration, licences and import permits in the destination country
- Compliance with local labelling and food laws, unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Customs clearance at destination, unless shipped on DDP terms
- Any demurrage, detention or storage costs arising from delays in clearance or collection
Goods rejected or left uncollected on delivery are at the Buyer's risk and cost.
10. Shipping Documents
Each delivery includes a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin and Weight Certificate. Other certificates can be obtained at the Buyer's expense.
11. Claims and Returns
Sales cannot be returned. There are no refunds.
The Seller only accepts claims for faults it caused — for example, short loading, incorrect product, or packaging that does not match the Proforma Invoice. A claim must be made in writing within the time stated in the Proforma Invoice, supported by photographs, an independent survey report, and evidence that the container seal was unbroken on delivery. Unsupported or late claims are not valid.
Where a claim is approved, the Buyer may choose a replacement in the next delivery or a credit note against a future order. Goods cannot be returned without the Seller's written permission.
The Seller does not accept claims for:
- Weight variation within normal industry tolerance
- Loss or damage occurring after risk has passed to the Buyer
- Moisture, caking or quality changes caused by storage after delivery
- Transit delays — these should be directed to the shipping line or insurer
12. Storage and Quality
Salt is moisture-sensitive and should be stored in a dry, covered, ventilated area, off the floor and away from walls. Goods are supplied to the specification in the Proforma Invoice. Quality complaints must be supported by a report from an accredited laboratory. The Seller is not responsible for quality changes caused by improper storage.
13. Limitation of Liability
The Seller's maximum liability for any order will not exceed the invoice value of the goods affected. The Seller is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, business or market share.
14. Compliance and Sanctions
The Seller complies with applicable international trade regulations and may decline any order or payment connected with parties, banks or destinations subject to UN, EU, UK or other applicable sanctions.
15. Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, strikes, government restrictions or pandemics.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes will be resolved first by negotiation, then by arbitration; for international orders, the seat of arbitration may be agreed in the Proforma Invoice.
17. General
These Terms, together with the Proforma Invoice, form the entire agreement between the parties. If any clause is found invalid, the remaining clauses stay in effect. The Seller may revise these Terms at any time; the version in effect on the date of the Proforma Invoice applies to that order.
